Chester Square, Belgravia

Eaton Place

One of the most renowned cases of a Crisis Apparition was reported here in 1893. On the evening of 22nd June 1893, an exclusive party was taking place at the residence of Lady Tryon, which was attended by several "selected guests". At a point in the evening, the figure of Admiral Sir George Tryon wearing full naval uniform walked into the drawing room. The figure passed his wife and disappeared.

It later transpired that at that moment of his appearance, the HMS Victoria under the command of Admiral Tryon, was sunk in a collision with HMS Camperdown off the coast of Syria.
